Professor Marcelo Milrad at Linnaeus University, Sweden visited Ogata laboratory

Professor Marcelo Milrad, the director of the Center for Learning and Knowledge Technologies (CeLeKT) research group at Linnaeus University, Sweden visited Ogata laboratory from 8th to 10th July.
Prof. Milrad conducted a workshop with the members of the Ogata lab. The workshop had interesting discussions regarding advanced learning technologies and applications of visual learning analytics. It was a fruitful knowledge exchange session!

【23 March 2019】EBELA-Asia-2019 workshop report

The “Evidence-Based Education and Learning Analytics-Asia-2019” workshop was co-sponsored by Asia University (Taiwan) and Ogata Laboratory, at Academic Center for Computing and Media Studies Kyoto University on 23 March 2019.

About 30 researchers gathered from home and abroad to participate. We had 18 speakers who presented their studies and experience of using the Learning Analytics framework developed in the Ogata Lab in Taiwan and Japan. We also had a brainstroming session about the future research agenda.

The Fourth Learning Analytics Workshop

Ogata-Lab organized the Fourth Learning Analytics Workshop from September 17～19, 2018 at Yugawara Hotsprings in Kanagawa Prefecture.

It was an engaging information exchange session among the researchers involved in the Research Project “Information Infrastructure for Supporting Education and Learning by Using Educational Big Data” (JSPS KAKENHI Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (S) Grant Number 16H06304). Many participants who are associated with the project attended the workshop. Over these three days, they presented their work and brainstormed regarding the future plans of the project.

International Workshop on Learning Analytics Tools

We had the International Workshop on Learning Analytics Tools with Professor Abelardo Pardo from University of South Australia, and Professor Tsuneo Yamada from The Open University of Japan on 5-6 September, 2018. Prof. Abelardo and Prof. Yamada made a keynote lecture and had discussion with our members.

We are very thankful to Prof. Abelardo, Prof. Yamada and everyone else who cooperated in this workshop.
