{"id":3199,"date":"2021-02-17T09:45:13","date_gmt":"2021-02-17T00:45:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eds.let.media.kyoto-u.ac.jp\/?page_id=3199"},"modified":"2021-02-17T09:45:14","modified_gmt":"2021-02-17T00:45:14","slug":"future-education-kyoto-model-demonstration-project-2018-2019","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/eds.let.media.kyoto-u.ac.jp\/?page_id=3199&lang=en","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Future Education&#8221; Kyoto Model Demonstration Project (2018-2019)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The theme of this research is to investigate students&#8217; academic ability, learning status and psychological parameters during collaborative learning situation and to examine an optimal learning method for each individual through an integrated analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Purpose<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Understanding the learner\u2019s status by visualizing their academic ability, daily learning activities and psychological parameters.<\/li><li>Based on that understanding propose an approach for Educational Evidence based Policy making (EBPM) for teacher support that maximizes learning outcomes and aims for individually optimized learning<\/li><li>Review and verification of learning log utilization policy<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2>Overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to develop the qualities and abilities required in the era of Society 5.0, we will effectively utilize various advanced technologies to develop students\u2019 abilities such thinking, judgment, expressiveness, independence, that goes beyond knowledge and skills. Our research aims to formulate learning methods, teaching methods, and evaluation methods in a collaborative learning context. The technology uses a microphone to capture the voices of each teacher and each student, and the content of speech and emotional changes are displayed in real time on the tablet terminal for the teacher, and the learning activity status of the student is quantitatively measured. Also, the content of utterance for each student is visualized on their tablet terminal while participating in the summarizing stage after the collaborative activity or during the reviewing stage of previous activities at the beginning of a lesson to support their self-learning. By empirical data collection, we aim to formulate individual\u2019s optimal learning methods by analyzing their learning related data such as proficiency levels, learning processes, academic ability, tablet operation logs, by applying learning analytics techniques. A group formation based collaborative learning approach is studied using visualization of its various activity data to verify the relevance of feedback methods applied for effectively developing the qualities and abilities of individual students, and capturing the trends of such teaching-learning scenarios.
