The Inagaki Team at Tohoku Gakuin University will host a workshop titled “Rethinking Assessment for Inquiry-Based Learning” on Monday, February 24 (National Holiday), from 10:00 to 16:00 at Aoyama Gakuin University, Aoyama Campus.
This workshop will feature three main topics:
- A service for visualizing the information-gathering process
- Integration with assessment methods
- Recognition of learning through open badges
Each topic will include a combination of service introductions, case reports from actual implementation, hands-on sessions, and commentary from researchers. Some services introduced will be available for use in your own school starting in April. We encourage you to join this event as an opportunity to gain fresh perspectives on how to assess inquiry-based learning.
As inquiry-based learning grows—whether in Integrated Studies, inquiry-specific subjects, or other formats—teachers increasingly face challenges:
How can we effectively observe and assess students’ inquiry processes?
How do we recognize diverse forms of student achievement?
If these questions resonate with you, this workshop is for you.
