BOLL is a decentralized system that uses blockchain technology to securely and transparently share and verify educational data. BOLL connects learners’ academic records across schools, enabling digital content transfer and providing visualizations and tools to support lifelong learning and analytics.

Overview of BOLL

Education has evolved significantly with the integration of technology, but one major challenge still remains the lack of continuity in learning data. When students move from one school to another, their learning records are often disconnected, resulting in a cold-start problem. The data collected at their previous schools is not available for use at their current or future schools. This limits the ability to personalize learning experiences, analyze student progress, and provide seamless educational transitions. We are researching and developing BOLL (Blockchain of Learning Logs) that allows learners to connect their data across the different schools they have attended.

    BOLL enables learners to connect their learning statements or logs across different schools and institutions. By using blockchain technology, BOLL ensures the security, privacy, and integrity of the connected learning data.

  2. Enabling the transfer of digital learning materials

    BOLL facilitates the transfer of digital learning materials, such as textbooks, lecture slides, and assessment questions. This allows students to access and revise their previous learning materials even after changing schools or graduating.

  3. Decentralized learning analytics

    By providing access to students’ prior learning data, BOLL makes it possible to realize learner profiles and guide new teachers on the best way to support each student. It is also possible to build various types of anonymized dashboards using decentralized data.
